• The company was started as a retailer of newborn clothing, accessories and toys • In addition to that the company also sells a small number of items that are directed towards the young mother • The company was founded in Chennai as a retail first company and quickly expanded from one store to three stores • First Store – Keelkattalai • Second Store – OMR Road • Third Store - Perumbakkam • The stores stock over 1300 SKUs that include a variety garments and toys which are targeted towards 0 - 6 year old children How it got started • Journey started in 2016 as a passion project meant to cater to the needs of young parents • What started out as a single retail store in 2016 has since scaled to three outlets and also weather the Pandemic as well as the construction of the Chennai metro which cuts right across the front of the store • The business has found its footing in the meantime and at the same time the founder has been working on developing a suite of offerings for the customers to make it even more attractive The Business • The typical customer that visits a shop is a new parents or someone who is about to have a child • Hence the typical age group of between 27 and 45 years of age and we often see more women shoppers than male shoppers in the store • The other type of customers who visit are ones who are looking for gifting solutions for someone they know • The idea is to build an Omni-channel business that can span all channels to drive sales for the products • We have built our own website that customers are beginning to use to place orders • Also other online channels such as Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho will be exploited in order to drive greater sales for the organization • This combined with our D2C strategy should considerably increase the topline of the company and drive growth.
