INDSRI Ferry Services P/L prime focus to provide a Passenger Ferry Service between Karaikal in Puducherry and Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka. An MoU for this has been signed between the company and Sagarmala Development Company Limited and SPV under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Inland Waterways, Government of India in February 2021. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation has already provided the required approval for the service. Company is awaiting clearances from other authorities and agencies in India. The company intends to operate a 125 passenger capacity Ferry with a free baggage allowance of 100 kg for each passenger. Service is targeting tourists and business people across Palk Strait.
