People with disabilities are one of the most underrepresented and vulnerable communities, and despite various inclusion strategies, institutes and businesses around the world continue to lack the knowledge and processes to provide them the support they need. This has led to high dropout rates and unemployment with only 16% and 19.1% of people with disabilities employed in India and the US. Further, there have been more than 400 litigations against universities in the US in 2018 alone for not being able to provide services to their students with disabilities. I-Stem empowers academic institutions and businesses to support their students and employees with disabilities using technology, community and support services. We offer a comprehensive package consisting of step-by-step guidance on creating disability offices in the cloud, automating administrative workflows as well as services used by students on a day-to-day basis (e.g. real-time captioning, accessible content creation etc.). The I-Stem portal also creates an ecosystem bringing academic institutions, students with disabilities and businesses all on a single platform that then leads to employment opportunities, completing the pipeline for students with disabilities.
