NILANCHAL BIOENERGY PRIVATE LIMITED The first step is to prepare the feedstock, which involves sourcing the oils or fats, and refining them to remove impurities, such as water, free fatty acids, and contaminants. NILANCHAL BIOENERGY PRIVATE LIMITED In this step, the refined feedstock is mixed with an alcohol and a catalyst, typically sodium or potassium hydroxide, in a reactor. The mixture undergoes a chemical reaction, known as trans esterification, which converts the triglycerides into biodiesel and glycerin. NILANCHAL BIOENERGY PRIVATE LIMITED After the trans esterification reaction, the mixture is allowed to settle to separate the biodiesel from the glycerin and any remaining impurities.
