The story of ideation It was over a phone call, two weeks before the Honorable Prime Minster announced Atma Nirbhar Bharat, to establish an enterprise which focuses on providing livelihood to people during and in post COVID-19 phase. The founder used the sentence 'in order to become stronger we need to become self-reliant' and the process started. Name Selection Pushtikar and Udyog means “Nourishing” and “Initiative”. The terms are picked up from the founders engagement in a training programme in Tripura where the Pushti is the Bengali version of word Nourish. The same is applied to the word Initiative. Key Focus Areas The three key focus areas area nourishment, livelihood and creating a resilient community during post COVID-19 phase. Objectives The name Pushtikar Udyog is established to nourish millions, improving livelihood opportunities of small & marginal farmers, youths and creating a resilient community. Objects Clause 1. Creating livelihood opportunities. 2. Collaboration and partnership to address hunger, food waste, food safety. 3. Creating long term sustainable solutions, protecting the environment, creating resilient communities by providing access to affordable, safe and nutritious food. The company’s purpose is not to do “the business” but ‘socially responsible business”, thus to contribute in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. It is registered under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Pushtikar Udyog Private Limited has created its own trademark with brand name 'Nutrition Delight'. In addition to this the company is registered with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
