Rethink Pharma is led by Dr Karen du Toit and Dr Akash M Sadaria. Dr Karen has done MSc studies in pharmaceutical chemistry and she eventually obtained a PhD degree in Applied Chemistry at the University of KwaZulu-Natal specialising in phytochemistry. Dr Akash MSadaria has developed over 120 general category tablets and capsule formulations. Rethink proposes collaborative approach of Dr Karen’s phytochemistry and Dr Sadaria’s modifiedrelease formulation development skills. Herbal extracts such as Foeniculum vulgare, Panax ginseng, Cimicifuga racemosa, Vitex Agnus castus, Cinnamomum cassia, Tribulus terrestris,Glycyrrhiza spp and Paeonia lactiflora have been identified for development as complementary medicine. These will be formulated as only herbal combinations or in combination with supportive vitamins (D, B complexes), minerals (magnesium, zinc, iron),amino acids (inositol, acetyl L-carnitine), and anti-oxidants (N-acetyl-cysteine, coenzyme
