In their own words
Before starting Ruralbaba E-Commerce Private Limited, we have done the research and found the common problems of Retailers like shutting stores to visit wholesale markets, lower margins, offline payments, and lack of technology, supply chain etc. The uniqueness/services/solutions we are offering to empower rural Kirana stores:- Innovative Product for Rural Area :The brands and consumers alike have understood the importance of digitally-enabled Kirana stores, and post-COVID era, we believe that technology is driven B2B E-commerce and digital transformation of Kiranas stores are absolute necessities to address the changed realities. Especially in rural areas where people are afraid to adopt technology and apart from us, there is no such service provider in the market. We developed a very user’s friendly B2B e-commerce platform keeping in minds for rural users. Our team visits Kirana shops and educates them on how to use our mobile app for ordering their grocery needs. The proliferation of the internet (especially on mobile phones), growth of e-commerce, greater acceptance of digital payments, and a uniform taxation system through goods and services tax (GST) helped us to connect with Kiranas Shops. We have our own warehouse, stocks and our delivery team delivers orders within 24-48 hours at their doorstep and this effort of ours has established a trust between the shopkeepers (Kiranas) and us. Inefficient Supply-Chain: During our market research, we came to know that Grocery shops struggle to get deliver goods from wholesalers on time and it causes the losses in term of their regular customers and reputation of the shop. In many cases, retailers have to shut the stores to visit wholesale markets and they have to put extra money on logistics and times behind getting goods. In this context we have our own warehouse in every district, from that we deliver orders within the 30 KMs area. Once registration is done with Ruralbaba then grocery shops can access available stocks and the price of the products. Our delivery USP, we deliver any value of order within 24-48 hours at the doorstep of grocery shops and we have our own delivery team. Lack of transparency in Pricing: Perhaps the most important element which the startup brings to the rural Kirana shops/ grocery stores is transparency in pricing. The common complaint among buyers in an offline wholesale market is that they are not sure whether they have been paid the right price. Ruralbaba ensures that there is clarity of what is the price on each item displayed on the platform and how much percentage discount they are availing on MRP. Encouraging Online payments: Startup supports all online payment like Net Banking, Debit/ Credit Card, Payment wallet, UPI etc, POS machine. We are in talks with Banks to provide bank /cash back offer on debit/credit cards and UPI etc for boosting online payment. In pandemic time we ensure 100% contactless delivery of goods. In-House Products/ Quality Products: Our start-up provides the best quality of products at a lower price as per the requirement of grocery shops and customers. We pick and pack the best quality of pulses, sugar, dry fruits and spices which reduce the wastage of goods, convenience in-store handling & maintenance. Improving Livelihoods of Rural Grocery Shops: We are developing a vast network of retailers/Kirana shops at the block level /divisional level markets and even remote village which will allow brands/companies to reach them. We educate grocery shoppers that they should have shop and GST registrations which can help them to get a loan from the government and bank to increase business. Our experts advise them how they can convert traditional shops into modern mart which may bring more customers to their shops.
