A WHO study estimates that nearly 500 million people in India – about half of its population – require vision correction but are not adopting means to correct it. In many cases, people, particularly children, are not aware that they need vision correction. Poor accessibility to corrective lenses is a key issue in India. There is just 1 optical store for 70000 people against the required ratio of 1 optical store for 10000 people. It is owing to these aspects that our organisation SPECTACULAR RETAIL VENTURES LLP was formed to attain the following objectives through its brand EYECURA: a. To reach out to help a wide number of people who are experiencing poor vision, are either ignorant of their vision correction requirements or have poor or no accessibility to the right kind of advice and vision correction/eye care products that they require to improve their vision. b. To scientifically dispense high quality prescription eye wear in the most affordable manner to people who need it the most, to help them avoid further deterioration of their vision. We associate with eye hospitals across the country with our brand EYECURA and work in sync with these eye hospitals to help their patients correct and restore their vision as per the hospitals’ prescribing guidelines by offering superior products and services in an affordable manner with our specially developed technology driven dispensing methodology. We also work closely with eye hospitals and mobilise our resources to reach out to people living in remote locations by conducting eye health camps to create awareness about regular eye check-up, symptoms of poor vision and achieving good vision to lead a good and productive life. With these endeavours, we aim to make a significant impact to reduce the menace of avoidable blindness through spreading awareness and providing easy, affordable and effective access to consultation and products to sections of society with limited resources.
