Umoya Sports works towards providing holistic development to Students with and without Disabilities by equipping with skills to lead an enriching life and building an ‘Inclusive Sports Culture’ through sports. We are working towards bridging the Inclusive Education Crisis Currently out of 40 - 80 million People with Disabilities in India, 46% are uneducated, 39% drop out from school and huge 63% of them are unemployed. We have identified 3 specific challenges faced by Students with Disabilities (SwD) leading to this crisis, which we refer as ‘Inclusive Education crisis’– I. Lack of quality programs providing holistic development and skill development curated for needs of SwD II. Lack of social skills because of denial of participation due to social stigma and misconceptions towards SwD III. No physical education or activity leading to physical and mental health problems. In recent times, obesity has started prevailing in young children. As the recent pandemic spread exponentially, these challenges have compounded even more for children with disabilities, especially given the inability to continue to access education, therapy or other vital medical care; resulting in the widening of the learning gap and critical need to meaningfully engage all children to remain physically and mentally active. In addition to the lack of inclusion in education, 68% of neuro-typical grade 3 children cannot read simple text and 72.3% of them cannot do basic 2-digit mathematic operations. The single biggest reason is lack of fundamental conceptual understanding of literacy and numeracy. Our Solution - Ability Spark Ability Spark is an 'inclusive digital physical education program' for ALL children (whether disabled or non-disabled) with the focus on developing overall physical and mental well-being through fun outcome-based sports and physical education activities and yoga Ability Spark program imbibes Head-Heart-Hand philosophy and integrates STEM based Early Childhood Education concepts such as basics of literacy, numeracy and pre-numeracy skills and basic life-skills such as body parts, colours, shapes, directions and patterns through fun play-based education. The primary goals of Ability Spark program are: 1. To educate learners in a manner that enables them to integrate play and exercise in their daily life while focusing on developing 5 fundamental development skills: a. Motor Coordination b. Strength and Endurance c. Balance and Posture d. Agility e. Mindfulness by Yoga 2. To develop the cognitive skills of all children by building conceptual understanding of foundations of numeracy and literacy. 3. To create a safe and inclusive social space for children with and without disabilities to interact and learn from each other while deriving joy in learning. The program consists of a play routine focusing on at least one of the fundamental development skill through a daily 20 - 40-minute activity plan, delivered to children via teachers, parents or caregivers. Nature of Product: Digital program (in process of building a Mobile-App) Product Innovation We understand that every child is unique, has different learning style and learning speed. Ability Spark makes learning fun and learning appropriate for every child, through a daily 20 - 40-minute activity plan, delivered to children via teachers, parents or caregivers, using innovative product features:  Videos: Each activity will be video demonstrated and modeled by adapted sports mentors along with a child. This self-paced video will enable visual learners to watch, follow, play and learn the activity for maximum impact  Instruction manuals: Every activity has an extensive step-by-step instructions on how to perform the activity. The instruction card also highlights how that activity will enable building essential life skills in the child, thereby helping them in becoming independent  Activity Adaptations: Ability Spark shares differentiated learning practices for every activity through age, and skill-appropriate adaptations and variations depending on (dis)abilities of children, making it inclusive for all children. There will be also be visual cue provided that will enable and encourage the child to play the activity independently.  Activity Worksheets: The worksheets are student reflection journals to track their activity performance along with academic and social-emotional learning from the activity. The Mobile App Ability Spark – Stay Fit App, is currently under-development. The App consists of following features: ● Realtime Parent and Child Dashboard: Ability Spark program will provide technology aided-instruction and intervention. The dashboard will not only track the physical activity of the student but also track the areas of development needed.
