Utilis Biosciences Private Limited is a technology led start-up company focussed on research and development of biotechnology-based products for applications in the virus indexing of economically important plant viruses. It involves development of point of care diagnostics (Lateral Flow Assay strips) for economically important plant diseases to facilitate efficient virus-indexing and provision of disease-free quality planting material to the farmers. The company has been awarded the Biotechnology Ignition grant by BIRAC, DBT (GOI) in the year 2018. Also, the company is an Innovation Voucher Programme (IVP) awardee from EDIITN, Chennai in the year 2021.
