UYAARTHINAI FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED
Ward 11, Tamil Nadu
In their own words
About 77 million people have diabetes in India. This number is expected to increase to 134 million in 2045. It is important to increase the awareness of dietary habits that causes diabetes. Unhealthy lifestyle and moving away from traditional foods like millets has been implicated in the rising cause of diabetes. Many of us are unaware how these millets were used traditionally in our day to day life and its potential benefits in preventing non communicable disease like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Though western lifestyle is the cause of diabetes in urban India, non nutritious cheap and free polished white rice has been considered one of the reasons for diabetes in rural India. As a co-founder of this company and a practicing Endocrinologist (Diabetes physician), my vision is to increase awareness of the traditional millets and help people prevent diabetes in future.
