VYAAN Purifiers aims to bridge the gap between the rising problem of air pollution and lack of efficient and affordable air filtration products,using a unique combination of technology and design. We have been developing innovative techniques to capture different classes of pollutants namely, • Fibrous media for capturing ultra-fine particulate matter • High density ion based precipitation for fine particulate matter • Cold ion jets for inactivating biological pollutants We are currently developing a portable air purification device which can be worn at all times indoors and outdoors. The device has the capability to help individuals breathe while they commute or travel outdoors for upto 6-8hrs Being a strongly interdisciplinary team of 3 recent graduates from IIT ROORKEE, we are oriented towards using elegant design techniques and advanced modelling tools for developing a product that would provide the consumers a comforting experience. Most air filtration masks available in the market put a lot of strain on the diaphragm making it very difficult for people to breathe through them.We are optimizing the air flow of the product using CFD that would create a high negative static pressure allowing consumers to breathe freely without straining themselves. In a country with 30 million Asthma patients and 9 out of 10 most polluted cities in the world, this product has the potential to be a life saver and a one stop solution for preventing all kinds of breathing problems.
