Xcellence in Bio Innovations and technologies(xBITS) is a 3 year old startup company which aims at bringing down cost of healthcare and smart solutions for early diagnosis of diseases. xBITS is led by a team of eminent scientists from India and US. Xcellence is addressing noninvasive glucose detection technology such as that developed in Israel by Integrity Applications’ Glucotrack monitor. Glucotrack is far too expensive to be justify prescribing it for Type 2 diabetes patients in view of the preferred and cheaper HbA1c testing. Xcellence seeks to add value to the Glucotrack instrument by way of a customized User Interface that in addition to blood glucose levels offers prompts and alarms selected to be of value in treating and arresting Type 2 diabetes. The regulatory approvals and testing for such User Interface equipped instruments will be borne by Xcellence with the basic instrument bought from Infinity Applications. The first markets of interest are in India and the US, the two with the greatest number of diabetics.
