Who we are? Akshay Embedded Systems Pvt. Ltd., Baner, Pune-411045, is an organization focused on designing and developing embedded-based solutions for the healthcare and manufacturing industry. Established in the year 2017, Its key objective is to address the overgrowing demand for ventilators in the healthcare sector. With the inception medical equipment controllers, we have made our mark in the healthcare sector where several hospitals are using our product today. As a step forward to this we decided to address the growing need for the adult ventilators in this pandemic. There was a clear void with high dependency on multinational players with respect to adult ventilators. We targeted to design and build an adult & neonatal ventilator. Our innovation succeeded and many hospitals are using these indigenously built adult & neonatal ventilators. We are proud to have received testimonials of our work from prestigious organizations like the TATA Motors Hospital, the K.E.M Hospital, the Grant Medical Foundation’s Ruby Hall Clinic and the AEGIS Multi-specialty Hospital to name a few. We are hungry for more! Reflection: How did this start? The Starting point: We all know that the pandemic did no good to this country and left us with no option but to fight, survive and look ahead. The first wave crises clearly reflected an inverse relationship between the demand and supply of adult ventilators. Our journey started with a thought of bridging this gap. The Fuel: The Make in India initiative by our Hon. Prime Minister. Mr. Narendra Modi gave a trigger to innovate a reliable indigenous adult ventilator which could satisfy its ever growing demand. It is Atmanirbhar Bharat! The days that passed by: We still re-collect the efforts that we put in the first lockdown and getting special permission to work on the ventilator project. The concept team and the development team worked relentlessly to design ventilator. This was tested at hospitals and feedback was incorporated based on what other competing brands had. The ventilator thus, further developed having enhanced graphics and pneumatic design. In the design phase collaboration was the key, where we also had to integrate some pneumatic components of international make as needed. However, the entire design was Indian with many Indian make components in place as well. For this achievement our OEM-partner received an award given by the Marico Innovation Foundation. The sales number soared to 500 mark in the second wave and high amount of efforts had to be put in sales, support and functional training at various hospitals. C) Ventilators that are certified by renowned labs to be stable and reliable in all aspects. D) Till now we have crossed 800+ mark and growing…. The road map ahead: With the ongoing improvements we are adding high frequency ventilation mode to neonatal ventilators and are improvising on Graphic User Interface of our ventilator to be at par with international brands. We feel that this laser sharp focus on continuous improvement is our strength which will one day lead us to be market leaders.
