1.What is the problem the startup is solving? a.Automatic Bio Clog Detection (ABCD) System in Railway Coaches -Indian Railways is turning open toilets in trains , have been prone to clogging due to dumping of waste such as bottles, pouches, plastic cups, paper and other material in the pans, resulting in foul smell. Cleanliness in train toilets and even coaches has always been a major issue The India Railways is using 'Clean My Coach'/ 'Coach Mitra' scheme where passenger can send a message through mobile (SMS) on a specified mobile number. A message will also be sent to the on-board housekeeping staff along with details like coach number. Housekeeping staff contacts the passenger and carries out cleaning as per demand. b. Automatic High Speed-Hot Box and Wheel Detection System -Due to continuous movement of wheels of the Rail coaches and wagons, wheel bearing or axle box which has become overheated; in extreme circumstance, it may melt or catch fire and cause derailing.Currently hot boxes are detected on running trains by station staff by listening to the whistling sound of bearings and visually due to discoloration of axle-boxes and grease oozing out. At station or in yards, when the trains stop, hot axle-boxes are detected by physically touching the axle-box cover. Of late, hand held non-contact infrared thermometers are also being used at major stations for checking the temperature of axle-boxes.As per reports of Indian Railways, 500+ cases detected were detected in 2016-17 alone with each case having a potential of causing loss in tune of 1000 crores along with loss of human life and mental agony to their family members. 2.how does your startup propose to solve this problem? a.Automatic Bio Clog Detection (ABCD) System in Railway Coaches -Under existing system, user/passenger has to voluntarily send SMS to Cleaning staff to report the clog. The foul smell due to clog remains in the compartment in case any Passenger fails to send SMS for any reason. We have invented the device based upon Artificial Intelligence called “Automatic Bio Clog Detection Device”. It has pre programmed software which detects and analyses the clog, automatically raises alarm, flashes the message with coach and train number and location to cleaning staff and web portal of the controlling authorities. The OBHS staff then attends the lavatory. b. Automatic High Speed-Hot Box and Wheel Detection System - Our start-up offers Hot Axle and Hot Wheel Detector (HAHW) to address this issue. HAHW is a checkpoint system installed on tracks and on wayside. As soon as a train passes through the checkpoint, the wheel and axle of the entire rake is scanned for any defect. On detection of any defect, the control room is immediately notified through Smart Alarm System (SAS) placed in the control room and SMS alerts are sent to the authorized personnel of the IR. The respective case is then further dealt with. A HBWD system has been developed and tested and a prototype system is under fabrication. The system uses state of the art technology throughout. Data will also be available for integration into the signalling network of the Indian Railways. 3.What is the uniqueness of your solution? a. Automatic Bio Clog Detection (ABCD) System in Railway Coaches. -The device is indigenous developed and no such solutions exists. Further, this device coupled with sensors, add self-monitoring capabilities to the Lavatories, hence making them Smart Lavatories and underlines Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat mission and at the same time eliminating passenger inconvenience caused due to choking of Bio Toilets. Moreover, similar issues exists in public toilets installed at various villages where this device could be a potential solution. b. Automatic High Speed-Hot Box and Wheel Detection System - i-Hot Box and Hot Wheel Detection System (AHS-HBWD) developed by us has following unique features ii.Completely unmanned and requires no supervision thus reducing the chance of human error iii.Send SMS to the preset mobile numbers warning them of warm box / hot Axle iv.The device can differentiate between LHB, Goods, ICF, LOCO, and Break Van. v.Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports can be generated and downloaded in HTML, and Excel formats via R.A.T. vi.The device also reports the ambient temperature. The device can also tell the direction of train and uses entry and exit triggers. vii.The device is indigenous developed and no other firm has developed this system indigenously. 4.How does your startup generate revenue? a. The Indian railways aims to have 100% bio toilets by 2019-20 with budgetary outlay of Rs 1220-crore b. Automatic High Speed-Hot Box and Wheel Detection System-The government created a dedicated corpus of Rs1.00 lakh crore railway safety fund for investing during the 5 year period 2017 to 2022.
