Cancer treatment is complex and requires a combination of multiple treatment types. Cancer patients treatment journey consists of multiple types of treatments that can typically involve patients interacting with one or more cancer treatment centers and specialists. Currently there is no single solution that can capture all the elements of a typical cancer treatment from beginning to end. There is a substantial lack of digitalisation of medical treatments in developing countries specifically in small cities and rural areas. Though, some peicemeal digital solutions exist solutions exist with an aim to digitalise treatment given to patients but it has very limited presence in the field of Oncology. Such a lack of digitalisation of cancer treatment leads to poor patient care and sub-optimal treatment outcomes for cancer patients. There is a need to develop an intuitive, smart and affordable digitalization system that captures the end to end journey of treatment for cancer patients and makes it easier for care providers and Oncologists to get hold of patients treatment records irrespective of which center the care started, complying with GoI's Mission ABDM. Having a centralized system recording all steps of a cancer patient's treatment journey will not only lead to better patient care and outcomes but also enable further research on this data.
