Greenwear operates for eco-friendly & decentralised textile value chain generating livelihoods of rural women through Solar Charkha. It follows the concept of Khadi (household based production) fused with technology to cater mainstream fashion industry directly impacting rural livelihood and conscious consumer base. Greenwear is soon-to-be-launched e-commerce brand for mass customization and bespoke tailoring. It provides forward linkages to produce of ‘Solar Charkha Mission’ which was launched by Hon’ble President of India on June 27th, 2018. The mission is based on the pilot project run by ‘Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan (BHKGS)’ in Khanwan village of Nawada (Bihar) established in June 2016. In April 2019, the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Innovation Park has selected Greenwear for its two years incubation programme through a new entity – ‘Greenwear Fashion Pvt Ltd’ which is a registered company under start-up India initiative. In addition to the above, Upaya Social Ventured has selected Greenwear for its accelerator program to increase its market outreach and funding opportunities.
