India accounts for more than 26% of the world’s neonatal deaths. Most newborn deaths are preventable by improving the quality of care during delivery and care at birth. India however is still significantly behind the Millennium Development Goal target of IMR of less than 15 per thousand babies. Current IMR of India 27.695 deaths per 1000 live births. According to WHO in cases where mothers’ milk is not available, donor milk is the best alternative. In this quest, it is important that the Government, Health experts, and civil society join hands to propagate and establish the concept of Human Milk Banking. Human Milk Banking in the long term will significantly help to reduce Neonatal deaths as well as IMR.JVD Mettle Innovations Pvt Ltd (MI) has pioneered in establishing a world-class modern Human Milk Bank in India. Along with setting up, MI also provides after-sales service support. We provide appropriate layout, process optimization, equipment, and documentation in accordance with International and National Guidelines. MI provides assistance in training staff of Human Milk Bank in order to work towards the propagation of Breastfeeding and Human Milk Banking. We have now entered into a JV with our UK based partners Medicare Colgate and are in the process of manufacturing the Human Milk Pasteurisers in India. These will be in turn exported all across the globe. Our setup includes: A human milk pasteurizer, Breast milk pumps hospital grade and manual, Deep freezer -200C, Refrigerator, Laminar airflow, Hot air ovens, Water bath, Autoclave, Human milk bank software, Training modulesA human milk bank is usually set up close to the NICU or in a tertiary care hospital or as a stand-alone setup. The setup is either done by the hospital management or by NGO or by the Government. We usually get a PO as an order confirmation or a tender contract as order confirmation. We do a turnkey setup and provide training support for the staff which ensures that the milk bank runs smoothly.
