In their own words

Startup Name Livelihood Care Foundation (Section 8 / Social Enterprise – Proposed DPIIT Recognition) 1. Brief Description of the Startup Livelihood Care Foundation is a women-led social enterprise startup working in the domain of circular economy, waste-to-wealth, and bio-energy solutions. The startup focuses on converting rural and agro-industrial waste into value-added products and clean energy, while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women and SHG-based enterprises. The startup operates at the intersection of environment sustainability, rural entrepreneurship, and climate action, using decentralized enterprise models owned and managed by women collectives. 2. Problem Statement Large quantities of agro-waste, dairy packaging waste, paper waste, crop residue, and organic waste in rural and semi-urban areas remain unutilized or are disposed of unsustainably. Rural women have limited access to formal entrepreneurship opportunities, technology, and markets. Existing waste management solutions are centralized, urban-centric, and capital intensive, making them unsuitable for rural ecosystems. 3. Innovative Solution Offered Livelihood Care Foundation proposes an innovative decentralized circular economy model where waste is converted into marketable products and bio-energy at the village or cluster level, led by women entrepreneurs. Key Innovations: First-mile waste aggregation & processing by women SHGs Low-cost, decentralized processing units suitable for rural deployment Waste-to-wealth product diversification, including: Handmade & recycled paper products Biomass briquettes and biochar Organic compost and bio-inputs Enterprise ownership by women, not just wage employment Integration of waste management with livelihood creation 4. Nature of Innovation (as per DPIIT Criteria) ✔ Process Innovation: Converting unsegregated rural waste into structured raw material for value addition ✔ Business Model Innovation: Women-owned
