In their own words
Med 2 Measure Private Limited is a newly incorporated entity working in the field of clinical research with the help of technology. Inflammatory arthritis is a common problem. We are using an Artificial intelligence technology (computer vision) to detect the presence of inflammation in joints on photographs of joint areas. Our pioneering pilot study in 200 hands showed a valuable 85% accuracy in the middle finger proximal interphalangeal joint as compared to a rheumatologist's opinion. Further studies to expand these findings are ongoing. We aim to bring this technology to a clinical pipeline where the algorithm helps doctors in clinical decision making. These simple smart phone photographs, taken under standardised conditions, can be sent in and uploaded to get a feedback to see if inflammatory arthritis is likely. This will help clinicians decide whether testing for inflammatory arthritis is warranted. In addition, it will save unnecessary patient visits in case there is no inflammation. Eventually, we will also look at sensitivity to change and its utility in following up these patients. This will bring in added value for its use as a prognostic tool for these diseases.
