In their own words

We at Nayantara Shipping Private Limited, strongly believe that to serve our public, is to serve our nation and this very objective forms the overall essence of our entire business model. We are in the business of providing high-speed passenger vessel services and for us to achieve our unique goal of providing high-speed service whilst ensuring compliance with all the relevant international safety measures prescribed by the International Maritime Organization and Indian Register of Shipping, we are launching a first of its kind "Catamaran" vessel next year. The vessel is being built in Goa by Mandovi Shipyard. A catamaran is known for its innovative and distinctive twin hull design. The design enables her to; 1) operate at high speeds with ease; 2) provides incredible maneuverability; and 3) allows the vessel to have greater stability, thereby ensuring massive resistance to capsizing. Once built, our Catamaran would be 26 m in length and would operate at a speed of 24.5-25 knots while maintaining a draft of less than 1.5 meters at all times. Our Catamaran would be catering to 200 passengers. That being said, at this juncture, it becomes imperative for us to highlight that we are simply sharing the details of one such vessel and our ultimate aim is to have as many catamarans as required by us to cover every demanding location across India. At present, there are no Catamarans, or such services being rendered by any operator/owner in India. Instead, we have bulky and outdated vessels, struggling to achieve even 10 knots. Thus, our Catamaran is unique in itself as it would be the very first domestically manufactured high-speed catamaran, which would be catering to our public. As of now, we have identified 4 routes on which we are planning to ply our Catamaran. These are as follows; Route Road Sea (Avg Speed = 24.5-25 Knots) Ghogha-Dahej 293 km; Approx 8 hours 17 nm ; Approx. 45 minutes Ghogha-Hazira 400 km; Approx. 9 hours 49 nm ; Approx. 2 hours Mundra-Jamnagar 268 km; Approx. 6 hours 18 nm ; Approx. 45 minutes Tuticorin-Colombo No road connectivity 152 nm ; Approx. 6 hours To give an example, the distance between Ghogha and Dahej is 293 km by road. Buses being run by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation and private operators are almost always packed, especially because rail traffic between the two cities is limited and the journey is ultimately time-consuming. We on the other hand are aiming to reduce this time-consuming journey down to mere 45 minutes. Our business model aligns perfectly with the grandeur vision of our Hon'ble PM, as he has categorically mentioned in his speeches about the benefits of sea-connectivity between the two cities. It is estimated that nearly 12,000 people travel daily between Saurashtra and south Gujarat and the existing ro-ro service is taking around 5 hours to cover the same distance. Therefore, with our innovative product and services, we could ensure that more and more people come on board with our journey towards excellence.
