The Smart Helmet is a modular IoT-based safety system designed to enhance rider protection and emergency response efficiency. Powered by an ESP32/ESP32-CAM, the system integrates an MPU6050 accelerometer-gyroscope, GPS module, and alert mechanisms to actively monitor the rider’s safety. Unlike traditional smart helmets, this design is fully attachable and compatible with any helmet, making it universally implementable without structural modifications.The system detects accidents or sudden impacts in real time and instantly transmits location details to a React.js web dashboard, where the rider’s live position, crash status, and helmet-wear detection can be monitored. In critical moments, automated alerts or manual SOS signals can notify emergency contacts to enable rapid rescue response. Additional features like drowsiness detection, buzzer/LED feedback, and navigation guidance make it more intelligent and reliable.This project aims to reduce fatalities due to delayed assistance, making road travel safer through an affordable, scalable, and widely deployable solution.
