One of the major challenges in the catering and event management industry is the significant wastage of surplus food generated during weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and institutional functions. Despite careful planning, a considerable quantity of safe and edible food often remains unconsumed and is ultimately discarded, resulting in avoidable food waste, environmental concerns, and inefficient utilization of resources. At the same time, a large section of the population, including homeless individuals, daily wage workers, rickshaw pullers, and other economically disadvantaged persons, struggles to access nutritious meals on a regular basis. The absence of an organized mechanism to safely collect, assess, and redistribute surplus food creates a disconnect between food surplus and food insecurity. Our startup aims to bridge this gap by establishing a systematic process for identifying, handling, and redistributing safe surplus food from catered events to needy individuals through timely collection and distribution, while ensuring appropriate food safety and hygiene practices. This approach not only reduces food wastage but also contributes to social welfare and promotes sustainable event management.
