INTRODUCTION Among ENT diseases, hearing loss is the most common sensory deficit in humans today. Worldwide, it is the second leading cause for “Years lived with Disability” the first being depression. Nearly 450 million people in the world had been disabled by hearing loss. In India also, there are a large number of hearing impaired young people which is causing severe loss of productivity, both physical as well as economic. A large percentage of children between the ages of 0 and 14 years are also suffering from significant auditory impairment. It is more common in elderly population, every 1 out of 3 person above the age of 60 years suffer some degree of hearing loss. Hearing loss may be sudden but more commonly its gradual in elderly persons, because of its gradual progression it takes about 7- 8 years to be noticed. Compared to this huge population of hearing loss in India the number of audiologist are very low. In India there are around 60000 registered audiologist at present. NEED Demand of hearing aids with latest technologies, the recent advancement in hearing aid technologies have created a huge demand because of its quality and features that they provide now, though natural hearing and hearing through an electronic device can never be the same but its also very clear that it cant be ignored as the present technologies in hearing aid has minimized the difference between natural and electronic hearing. Malpractice in this industry which leads to inappropriate assessment and rehabilitation. A huge number of hearing impaired population have been benefited with the use of hearing aids but there are also large number of population those who are not satisfied with the use of hearing aid as they were not able to get the optimum benefit from the hearing aid because as there are very few professionals working in this field so therefor nower days most of clinics are being runned by non professionals which leads to inappropriate assessment and intervention. Aim: To establish a proper setup in the field of audiology and speech language pathology which could help each and every age group with speech and hearing difficulties with recent research and innovation and adding high ethical values towards the people in need. Operating procedure Phase 1: 6 months to 1 year A setup with basic audiological tests Speech therapy Hearing aid trail and dispensing Run awareness program Phase 2: 1 year A proper setup for vestibular assessment and rehabilitation All basic and advanced vestibular tests Result based rehabilitation Phase 3: 1 year Cochlear implant Identify candidacy for cochlear implant To provide devices Pre and post assessment Total intervention for cochlear implant Phase 4: 6 months A setup for voice assessment and therapy All instrumental and non instrumental tests Advanced therapeutic procedure.
