Ventara Air Systems Pvt. Ltd. is a women-led Indian CleanTech company solving one of the country's most pressing and least-addressed problems: indoor air quality. Indians spend most of their time indoors, where pollution concentrates, even as buildings become a fast-growing source of energy use and carbon emissions. Yet most ventilation and HVAC products sold in India are generic imports built for other markets — not optimised for India's particulate and dust loads, humidity, unstable grid voltage, or building stock. Ventara exists to close that gap with ventilation and indoor-air-quality technology engineered specifically for Indian conditions. Today, Ventara goes to market with its own brand, "Ventara," supplying ventilation and IAQ products that are specified and adapted for Indian buildings, backed by IAQ-led system design and after-sales engineering. This market-facing presence is doing more than generating revenue: it is building the customer insight and field-performance data that directly drive the company's product-improvement and R&D roadmap. What makes Ventara different from an importer-reseller is its objective and its direction of travel. The company is building an in-house R&D capability and a research collaboration with IIT Kanpur, developing proprietary, patentable ventilation technology optimised for Indian air quality and energy efficiency, and moving toward domestic manufacturing — substituting imports rather than depending on them. The thesis combines three things the market usually treats separately: clean indoor air, lower energy consumption, and reduced carbon footprint, all aligned with India's green-building and net-zero goals.
