Achieving equity in education has been a goal for all stakeholders in the education sector, worldwide. The advent of technology sparked hope that it might be able to achieve this goal. But the limited access to technology and the high cost of implementing it has ensured that only the resource rich become the gatekeepers to technology enabled learning. Virtual Vidyapith has been setup with the Vision of ensuring that all stakeholders including educational institutions, educators and learners are able to create, disseminate and access high quality teaching learning resources that are suited to the cultural, contextual and linguistically diverse learning needs of the learners. At Virtual Vidyapith equity in education is not limited to getting equitable access to educational resources. Equity is also defined in terms of equitable opportunities for earning happiness and opportunities for all the stakeholders and mainly the educators.
