Our Mission is to "To nullify the anthropogenic impact on earth through sustainable waste management interventions and environment friendly sustainable solutions". And our Vision is "To create an environmentally sustainable earth which is in tune with Nature". To envisage this idea we are targeting one of the most polluting sectors i.e. the waste being generated everyday. India produces 277.1 million tonnes of solid waste every year. Soon it will be 387.8 million tonnes in 2030. And 543.3 million tonnes by 2050. On a daily basis, the country produces more than 1.50 lakh metric tonne (MT) of solid waste, of the total collected waste, only 20 per cent (27,000 MT per day) is processed and the remaining 80 per cent (1,08,000 MT per day) is dumped in landfill sites. This creates a huge carbon emission, groundwater contamination and pollution in several other ways. To counteract this huge nuisance, we propose to use Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) as an agent to reduce, reuse and valorize the unsegregated Municipal Solid waste, food waste, human feces and several other organic wastes. The BSFL will feed on the waste and the obtained larval biomass at the end have myriad applications such as poultry feed, fish feed, pet feed, biodiesel, bioplastic among others. The overall revenue generation from this technology is encouraging and promises a self-sustaining waste management business model.
