AnalyticsPlus is a startup based in Kolkata. It offers AI and Machine learning based data science services to several industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Its core capabilities lie in collecting data from IOT sensors and devices and providing edge and cloud-based analytics. A subgroup of AnalyticsPlus Engineers and scientists are devoted to building IOT driven smart toilets that conserve water and improve personal hygiene. This product is named AQUASHIELD and is described below: AQUASHIELD is an affordable, easy to install, retrofitting, squat toilet. It converts a standard toilet into a water conserving, hygienic, smart toilet incorporating an IOT based automatic dual flush system with a unique “clean shield”, two sets of pipes, a motorized pump, and a solenoid valve. Few salient features are: Sensor based system that automatically identifies kind of flush required based on specific time duration of use. Half flush involves spray jets requiring < 0.5 liters of water. Full flush involves bulk flow of 2 liters and spray jets using 0.5 liters of water. Teflon coating on the pan as well as on heel rests for proper positioning of the person helps less fecal matter exposure to the pan, hence less water to drain. Compatible with existing flushing system and allows manual override if required. Keeps toilet clean and hygienic without requiring manual touch. This effort is made by considering the present pandemic situation where manual ‘touch’ could be a threating move for spread of viral and bacterial infection.
