Badabon Farmers Producer Company Ltd (BFPCL), operating the consumer brand Badabon Harvest, is a producer-owned and farmer-run enterprise founded in 2018 in the Sundarban coastal region. We build ethical value chains by aggregating climate-resilient products—mangrove-positive shrimp and fish, wild/forest honey, and naturally grown rice, spices, and pulses—and upgrading them into quality-assured, QR-traceable retail packs. Our supply model is anchored in village-level BFIG producer groups with strong women’s leadership. We provide market linkage, standard operating procedures for hygiene and processing, packaging and labelling support, and digital traceability that connects every product to its farmer and geography. On the demand side, we operate a blended D2C + B2B strategy: e-commerce and social channels for urban customers, alongside institutional and retail partnerships for scale. Our edge lies in (i) provenance and conservation storytelling (mangrove-positive sourcing), (ii) transparent quality (FSSAI compliance and product test reports), and (iii) inclusive jobs and skilling for youth and women. Working with 1,000 farmer-producers, the model shortens supply lines, improves producer realisations, and channels a portion of margins into community stewardship—nursery raising, patrolling, restoration support, and climate-literacy for youth. Over the next 24 months, we aim to expand producer onboarding, strengthen cold-chain for seafood, roll out improved packaging, and deepen digital traceability and customer loyalty.
