Bharat Fishmate is building a technology-enabled platform for fish farmers that combines physical services with digital support. The business mainly works around the supply of quality and traceable fish seed, along with aquaculture inputs, training and digital advisory services. Through the FISHMATE app, farmers can access services such as the Meen Mitra AI chatbot, farming guidance and other support, while FISHMATE Zones will provide local, on-ground assistance.At present, fish seed sales are the main source of revenue, contributing around 86% of total revenue, while advisory subscriptions and other input sales through the e-commerce platform contribute the remaining share. The company plans to expand its network of hatcheries, connect with fisheries cooperatives and establish FISHMATE Zones in major fish-producing states.The impact is focused on making fish farming more productive, reliable and profitable, particularly for small and medium farmers. Better quality seed, timely advisory and data-based farm management can help reduce fish mortality, improve production and increase farmer income. The company is targeting an income potential of around ₹1.25 lakh per acre per year for farmers. At the same time, the model promotes responsible aquaculture by reducing unnecessary water pollution, lowering the carbon footprint of fish production and encouraging climate-smart farming practices.In simple terms, Bharat Fishmate aims to bring quality inputs, practical knowledge and technology closer to the fish farmer, while creating a scalable business around the growing aquaculture ecosystem.
