Gua Cha is a homegrown wellness beverage startup aiming to disrupt India’s caffeine culture by introducing premium, crash-free, and functional alternatives rooted in Matcha and clean ingredients. Our business is twofold: (1) a consumer-facing matcha brand that offers high-quality, sustainably sourced Japanese matcha and functional add-ons like blue spirulina and organic sweeteners, and (2) a long-term cultivation and R&D project (Project Harā) working towards developing India’s first scalable matcha agriculture model using advanced agri-tech and agrovoltaics. We are innovating across the entire value chain — from product sourcing and blending, to consumer education, digital distribution, and supply chain localization. Our scalable business model combines direct-to-consumer retail with experience-driven activations such as matcha bars and corporate wellness pop-ups, creating aspirational wellness experiences. With a strong focus on wellness, sustainability, and lifestyle-driven branding, Gua Cha holds high potential for employment generation across farming, processing, logistics, and creative roles — while also contributing to import substitution and export potential for India in the long run.
