We are the new generation of urban food gardeners in Kolkata, and a part of this brave new world of self-sufficiency, since we grow organic and chemical free fish and vegetables in entirely urban settings with minimum water usage. Unlike traditional agriculture, we use only ⅙ th of the water to sustainably grow 8 times more food per katha, without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers, year ‘round, in any climate. In other words, we proudly practice soil-free aquaponics and hydroponics, work towards self-sustainability, and attempt to do more than our part to improve the city, our neighborhood, our families, ourselves, and the earth as a whole. We are a part of the ever-expanding global community of sustainable developers, which is made up of individuals from many walks of life who are all working towards environmentally friendly sustainable development.
