Mrittika Group of entities are in agribusiness sector since past ten years and are well aware of the potentialities and the uncertainties of the sector. Mrittika Sujal Ventures LLP (Start-up) has been incorporated with the object of processing of various nuts viz gorgon nuts, water chestnuts, cashew nuts including farming thereof with initial focus of processing makhana pops out of gorgon nuts. The lava manufacturing process is by and large manual; mechanization efforts have not yielded desired results– the role of technology is quite limited. The most complex primary roasting process is manual. However, in its efforts to embrace technology, we are trying to mechanize the secondary roasting i.e. popping operation. This will improve productivity, bring uniformity in the shape of finished products and thereby additional value realization is expected. We are also looking to source the seeds of high yielding variety as distributed by various agricultural universities /institutes from progressive farmers. This would not only ensure a higher input output ratio but also help in obtaining bigger size of lava resulting in improved price realization.
