Purple is a R&D startup incubated under IIT Kharagpur, conducting research in the areas of Affective Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchains and IoT technologies. R&D projects upon maturing undergoing business and technical validation will be launched as products and services. Two of our projects have reached advanced stages and are due for market launch. SecureSound is an AI based Image Processing Software designed for ultrasound machines and capable of detecting and blurring foetal genitalia in real-time USG video. This renders the USG machine incapable of use for gender determination. Such machines would fall outside the restrictions on sale and use of standard USG machines currently existing. Both the application and technology are protected in India and US with 3 patents. Purple provides end-to-end Blockchain services using best in class frameworks for development and deployment of custom solutions based on client requirements. Also, our blockchain platform Joey, is built around concept of Blockchain for All. It is unique in the sense it can store any type of data i.e. text, video, software, etc. on the blockchain and at the same time provide security equivalent to any standard blockchain. Hence this platform broadens the definition of blockchain from a ledger to a database. Also through an extremely intuitive interface user’s will be able to design and deploy their own blockchain using Joey in their organisations. Affective Computing/emotion analytics although currently at pure R&D stage will become a big focus area we have 2 granted US patents and another patent application in the space.
