QuillAir, established on the first quarter of 2025 and headquartered in Kolkata, is an Indian deep-tech startup engineering autonomous unmanned aerial systems for agricultural productivity and defence logistics. Its current medium-payload platforms deliver precision spraying, seed broadcasting, crop-health analytics, frontline ISR, and light tactical resupply—each airframe built around an AI sense-and-avoid stack, quick-swap payload bays, and ≥60 % indigenous content to satisfy Make-in-India incentives and DGCA UAS-2024 safety norms. Backed by a ₹5 crore pre-seed round led by Shriram Industries & Exports, QuillAir’s 8-member core team—headed by founder-CEO Aryaman Agarwal and incoming CTO Vimal Raj (ex-HAL UAV programmes)—will begin field trials this year with a leading fertiliser cooperative and an ordnance-factory integrator, aiming for DGCA type-certification in early 2026. While today’s roadmap is anchored in agri- and defence drones, the company’s long-term vision is to extend its technology into heavy-payload UAVs (50 kg +) that can transform green logistics and disaster response. A planned ₹20 crore Seed round will fund manufacturing scale-up, a cloud-based fleet-management SaaS, and Skill-India-aligned operator training—laying the groundwork for QuillAir’s heavy-lift ambitions and a safer, lower-carbon air corridor over rural and strategic India.
