Saif Seas is as rapid robotic rescue craft which can be used for in rescue on water. The craft is hydro dynamically designed in an Open Hexagon design with two ducted propellers to provide forward and reverse thrust to the craft. The craft is so designed that it houses electronics and batteries in its body. External radio remote with an operator can control the craft for its speed and direction. This remote enables the craft to be steered to the distressed/drowning person. The person can hold onto the craft or tie himself /herself to the craft with a belt and be pulled to safety. Belt provides a hands free grasp of the craft. The craft has a self righting design which contributes to its stability in different sea conditions. Dual way communication between the craft and the remote gives indication on the battery levels of the craft thrusters, craft electronics and hand held remote. This feature is very helpful before and after deploying of the craft. Future models of Saif Seas can have local control for additional manoeuvring for assisted support during rescue operation, Military version for use with the defence forces, foldable version for smaller storage and faster reach, GPS/Radar version for auto navigation in the autonomous version, underwater version to help dive underwater for diver delivery vehicle or stealth missions and a swarm version where in number of Saif Seas can co-ordinate among each other along with other devices to save a ship wreck. Further models envisaged are Coastal version for better coastal security and surveillance, coastal version along with aerial drones which will be an added advantage for faster and better surveillance and reporting, Aluminium air battery version, Intelligent battery management module (IBMM) and smart group management module (SGMM). Saif seas can also be used as an eye watch of our shores, with suitable modification, this will make for our continuous “Eyes in Water – to protect our shores”, thus also saving our manpower and risk to lives of our Sailors.
