Scoopski Cookie Dough website How many times have you travelled abroad, seen something and thought to yourself that there's nothing like that in India? From toothbrushes to candy sticks, the Indian packaged goods sector is still way behind the shelves of a basic departmental store outside India. 2 years back, when on an exchange to Harvard University, I came across the culinary wonders America had to offer. An entire summer and 12 kgs later, the one thing that I was craving for, was this one dessert I had tried in a tiny shop in New York City: Edible cookie dough! While I could’ve whipped something similar up at home to satisfy the immediate craving, I knew it wasn't a long term solution because a) it wasn't safe to eat raw, and b) because I wanted it to be there at my arm's length every single time I felt peckish. That became one of my core motivations to take a dessert, that is popularly served in a parlour model in the States, and create a packaged foods company. After some brainstorming and several mishaps in the kitchen, Scoopski was born. It’s a one-of-a-kind edible cookie dough, which you can eat from the jar, or bake, depending on how lazy you’re feeling. We use the highest quality ingredients and zero preservatives. Our trademark production process ensures that the dough stays fresh for up to 3 months when refrigerated. We first tested out the product in a flea market in February 2018 and owing to the response we went in for product and packaging development. We incorporated the company Vikson Food works in August 2018 and were initially just delivering through third party delivery services. The response to this product on social media was massive and we soon started getting requests to stock up in all the major cities in India. Two months later in October, we launched our website and started shipping our products all over the country. Consumer education has been one major roadblock in this journey so far, which we are mending every day. As ​Indians, we have always had the luxury of access to inexpensive fresh desserts but almost all of those offerings fall under the Indian segment. Most western desserts, excluding ice cream, are not available beyond a live format. There's a growing segment of millennial Indians that prefer the comfort of their sofa and bed while tucking into a sweet indulgence. And that's where we come in. Till date, Scoopski has reached customers in over 35 cities, and very soon, we’re looking to hit the shelves of all major retailers in the country. As for the way forward, Vikson Foodworks will also be diversifying into a highly unexplored segment - Healthy Dessert.
