Problem Statement: In India, if we look at recent health statistics, we see India ranks 145 out of 195 countries in Health Index (HI), ranks 44.8 in Health Access and Quality (HAQ) and 131 out of 188 countries on Health Development Index. It was expected that 44000 doctors would serve 840 million rural populations with 1 doctor catering to @ 20,000 people. End 2017, Govt. of India has released an update wherein they have specified that currently the ratio of “medical practitioner”: Population = 1 : 923 which includes Unani, Ayurveda, Homeopathy along with MBBS Doctors. Recent statistics published by ToI in August this year, in our own state of Bengal, there are only 117 qualified MBBS Doctors in 348 Govt. Hospitals wherein the need is 1740 i.e. need : actual is less than 7%. These abysmal situations aggravated the already burdened load of ‘’non-communicable diseases”(NCDs) in rural India, where there is a huge dearth of qualified MBBS doctors. Also there is a serious problem of behavioural attitude towards response on preventive health and general wellness amongst the urban population at large especially senior and elder citizens, which often leads to medical emergencies and hospitalisation wherein chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardio, CKD and COPD contributes to 60% of deaths in India today. This is what Ventona HealthTech aspires to address through their ambitious Healthcare Initiatives. How the Problem is being addressed and solved : Ventona has launched its 2 flagship Collaborative Healthcare Programmes : Ujjibani - Primary Rural Healthcare Services delivered by trained VLHEs selected from the rural communities and supported by Tele-health platform with use of Telemedicine kits and point-of-care devices. Ujjibani - Preventive Home-health Management Services delivered by trained Caregivers at patients home by use of Tele-health kits and POC devices supported by remote doctors through Telemedicine platforms.
